Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of ScanOnce, a local PDF scanning and document management app for iOS.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ScanOnce, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.

2. About ScanOnce

ScanOnce is designed to scan documents, generate local PDF files, preview PDFs, organize documents with folders and tags, import files, and share PDFs through iOS system features.

ScanOnce does not require an account, does not operate a backend server, and does not provide cloud storage or cloud synchronization.

3. Your Documents and Responsibilities

You are responsible for the documents, images, PDFs, filenames, folders, tags, and other content you create, import, store, export, or share using ScanOnce.

You should only scan, import, store, export, or share content that you have the right to use. You are also responsible for complying with applicable laws, agreements, workplace rules, and third-party rights.

4. Local Storage

ScanOnce stores documents and app data locally on your device. The app does not upload your documents to developer-operated servers.

You are responsible for managing your device, backups, storage space, exported files, and any copies you share or move to other apps or services.

5. Sharing, Importing, and Third-Party Services

ScanOnce uses iOS system features such as the share sheet, Files, Photos, Mail, AirDrop, iCloud Drive, and third-party apps when you choose to import, export, or share content.

Once you export, share, or move a file to another app or service, that destination is governed by its own terms and privacy practices. ScanOnce is not responsible for third-party apps, services, storage providers, or sharing destinations.

6. Security Features

ScanOnce may offer Face ID, device passcode protection, and auto-lock settings to help reduce casual access to your local documents.

No security feature is perfect. You remain responsible for protecting your device, passcode, biometric settings, backups, exported files, and shared documents.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ScanOnce to violate applicable law, infringe the rights of others, distribute harmful content, or interfere with the operation of the app or iOS system services.

8. Availability and Changes

ScanOnce may change, improve, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. We may also update these Terms of Service when the app changes or when legal, operational, or security reasons require an update.

9. Disclaimer

ScanOnce is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

ScanOnce is a document scanning and management tool. It is not a backup service, cloud storage service, legal service, financial service, medical service, or professional records management service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanOnce and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, documents, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of the app.

11. Privacy

Your use of ScanOnce is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how the app handles documents, metadata, permissions, and local storage.
